Most LGBTQ adults in US don’t feel transgender people are accepted: Poll | LGBTQ News

A Pew Research Centre poll reveals that while about 60% of LGBTQ adults believe gay and lesbian individuals are generally accepted in the US, only 10% feel the same about transgender and non-binary people, with half reporting low acceptance levels. Transgender individuals experience less familial acceptance compared to their gay and lesbian counterparts, with only one-third of their parents accepting them, and just 10% feeling accepted by extended family. The Supreme Court’s upcoming ruling on Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors could significantly impact the transgender community’s social acceptance.
