In the latest data, 4,758 potential victims of modern slavery were referred for help and assessment by the National Referral Mechanism, marking a record high. The majority of referrals were UK nationals, followed by Albanian and Vietnamese individuals, with most adults referred for labor exploitation and one for organ harvesting concerns. Additionally, a significant number of children were referred for criminal exploitation, including 288 boys for county lines exploitation.
