In Wellington, New Zealand, a Maine coon cat named Mittens accidentally became a jetsetter after her cage was overlooked in a plane cargo hold, resulting in three trips between New Zealand and Australia within 24 hours. Despite the stressful ordeal, Mittens was eventually reunited with her family in Melbourne, Australia, after a pet moving company ensured she was back on the plane for a one-way trip. Air New Zealand has apologized for the incident and will reimburse all costs associated with Mittens’ travel, with the family expressing relief and gratitude for having their beloved cat back safe and sound.
