Police in Spain arrested a 22-year-old man with a criminal record for copper theft after recovering a stolen statue of golfer Seve Ballesteros, which had been chopped into pieces for its bronze value. The statue, valued at 30,000 euros, was found in a storage room in Santander, with its torso and head intact but arms broken. The 100kg statue, depicting Ballesteros in a celebratory pose, was torn from its base earlier this month in Pedrena, where it was permanently installed in 2017. Ballesteros, a beloved golfer who won five major titles, passed away in 2011 at the age of 54.
