Missing Pensacola man Vernon Flowers Jr.’s body discovered by Escambia County deputies

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office announced the discovery of Vernon Flowers Jr., missing for almost a month. His body was found and his family notified, with the case now in the hands of the medical examiner. No foul play is suspected in Flowers’ death, as he was the subject of a Local Purple Alert due to needing medical attention before disappearing on Sept. 28.
