OTTAWA — Justice Minister Sean Fraser expressed surprise at Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s comments regarding his appointment, emphasizing that he does not wish to engage in personal attacks after Poilievre criticized his track record. Fraser noted that voters in his riding had expressed their disapproval of Poilievre’s approach during the recent election, where the Conservatives, despite gaining new seats, fell short of winning against the Liberals. As Parliament resumes on May 26, Fraser stated the government’s intent to swiftly implement some of its campaign commitments.
