After retiring from the U.S. Army following 8 years of service, military working dog Frenky was reunited with his handler, U.S. Army Ssg. Kristin Vanderzanden, thanks to the American Humane Society’s efforts. The loyal German Shepherd served alongside Vanderzanden in combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, where his expertise in explosive detection and bite work saved lives and boosted base morale. Now enjoying a well-deserved retirement in Texas, Frenky can relax and be a dog after years of dedicated service to his country.
