Militants attack a security post in restive northwest Pakistan, killing 2 people

Militants armed with assault rifles attacked a security post in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, killing a police officer and a civilian, while injuring another officer. The civilian was an employee of the Customs department. Security forces engaged the insurgents, who fled the scene, with suspicion falling on the Pakistani Taliban as they frequently target security forces in the region.
