Israeli troops engaged in intense battles with Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon, including in the coastal town of Naqoura which hosts the headquarters of U.N. peacekeepers. Several UNIFIL posts were hit, with four Italian soldiers sustaining minor injuries. The fighting occurred following the International Criminal Court’s issuance of arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister, and a Hamas military leader for war crimes and crimes against humanity related to conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.
