Detectives Crockett and Tubbs from the iconic 80s series Miami Vice are set for a cinematic revival, with Joseph Kosinski, director of Top Gun: Maverick, at the helm. The screenplay will be penned by Dan Gilroy, known for his work on Nightcrawler and The Bourne Legacy. The original NBC series, which aired from 1984 to 1990, starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, and previously saw a film adaptation in 2006 featuring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx, which garnered mixed reviews but later received a more favorable reassessment.
