Mexico announced plans to construct “Coatlicue,” the most powerful supercomputer in Latin America, which will be seven times more powerful than Brazil’s current leader. The project aims to enhance the country’s capabilities in artificial intelligence and data processing, with a target capacity of 314 petaflops compared to the existing 2.3 petaflops. President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, although the construction site has yet to be determined. Work on the supercomputer is set to begin next year.
