Mexican marine biologist injured in shark attack in Costa Rica

A Mexican marine biologist, Mauricio Hoyos, was seriously injured in a shark attack while conducting research off Costa Rica’s Pacific coast and was later transferred to a hospital in the capital. The incident occurred during a tagging expedition for the One Ocean Worldwide Coalition, and despite severe injuries, he arrived at the hospital in stable condition, with authorities noting that such attacks are extremely rare.
