The 2025 Met Gala in New York City will celebrate Black style and tailoring with the theme “Tailored for You,” coinciding with the spring exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Anna Wintour, the event marks the first major focus on menswear and Black designers in over 20 years, highlighting the influence of Black identity on fashion. The exhibition, inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book on Black dandyism, runs from May 10 to October 26, emphasizing the historical transformation of fashion as a means of asserting identity and power.
