Meager unhappy at state of the state highway

Rangitata MP James Meager expressed dissatisfaction with the state of highways in Mid Canterbury, specifically mentioning issues at Tinwald and the Ealing turnoff to the Rangitata Bridge. NZ Transport Agency confirmed repair works in Tinwald before Christmas and ongoing discussions with the contractor for Ealing, with a focus on workmanship and design considerations. Meager encouraged the community to use the pothole hotline introduced by the Government, as NZTA plans to start a resurfacing program on sections of SH1 and major roadworks in Ashburton in the New Year.
