It’s the final MAFS dinner party of Season 11 and thank god it’s finally over.
The experiment’s guinea pigs stepped back in the ring to reveal the extent of their relationships since marrying all those moons ago… yet there was no giant leap for mankind.
To make the memory of their respective journeys a tad more vivid, each couple was shown a highlights reel to relive the trauma once more.
Rolling up to the dinner with nurse Ellie in hand, Lauren took ex Jono’s stunt and lack of communication as an affront to their previous relationship.
Calling his new beauty “amazing”, the mild-mannered entrepreneur claimed he felt “lucky to have met her” and was “on the path” to love.
Lauren was there to hear it all — sitting less than a metre from her former husband as judges swooned over Ben and Ellie’s burgeoning romance.
But the couple was left with a bitter taste in their mouths when accusations were brought up that they were more than just friends earlier in the experiment.
“Don’t frolic in here with someone else and then try and sit here and blame it on me,” Lauren said.
Admitting he reached out to Ellie after the show’s final vows ceremony because “he was a caring person”, many in the room — while happy for the new couple — took issue with the timing.
The exiled Ben then chimed in with an observation there was “always a crush” from Jono’s end towards Ellie.
Jayden and Eden suggested they’re going strong, with the kickboxer professing his feelings for Eden were “world-champ strength”.
Typically tight-lipped, Cassandra failed to find a lover in Tristan but wasn’t afraid to call Sara “fake” to her face as her husband Tim sat back in silence.
Sara then had to sit and bear it herself when the couple’s reel was played back to them — her betrayal of Tim a transparent personality plain for all to see.
Arguably the most controversial couple, yet undeniably the most disingenuous, Tori and Jack were forced to relive their questionable behaviour for the last time.
After hearing of Jack’s inability to feel anything sexually for his wife, the upset Tori demanded “I want to leave”.
Copping the same line of questioning as ever from the judges, Tori doubled down on her feelings for the bad boy and swore the perspective of others did not sway her.
“I’m done with this,” Tori said as the duo stormed out.
In a wholesome update, Timothy and Lucinda expressed their care for one another to a room full of smiles.
“Tim and I speak a couple of times a week,” revealed Lucinda.
“He’s a good bloke.”
While not together, the former couple commended the experience and felt it bettered them as people.
If that was the only positive thing to come from the experiment, you could almost say it was all worthwhile.
With that, Season 11 of Married at First Sight came to an end.
And good riddance.
