More than half of U.S. is now included in mapping tool for flood forecasts. Here’s what to know.

The National Weather Service announced that its Flood Inundation Mapping (FIM) tool now covers 60% of the U.S. population, doubling its previous reach. This interactive tool provides real-time flood forecasts and visualizations, aiding emergency managers and communities in preparing for flooding events and will be fully activated across the U.S. next year.
