Chicago police officers shot and wounded a man in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood after responding to a report of a person with a gun at the 11000 block of South Millard Avenue. The officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, but one officer ultimately fired his gun, striking the man who was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition. The man’s relatives were found unharmed inside the home, and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating the incident along with the department’s Investigative Response Team.
