A man threw an explosive device inside a California courthouse, injuring five people, on the day he was to be arraigned on firearms violations. The incident occurred at the Santa Maria Courthouse in Santa Barbara County when the suspect lunged through the doors and tossed a bag that exploded outside the arraignment area. The explosion occurred as the bag hit the floor outside the weapons screening station, causing chaos and injuries.
