Shilei Du, charged with first-degree murder in the death of his partner Guangmei Ye in Candiac, was out on bail for uttering threats against her. The killing took place on or around Nov. 7, and Du had previously appeared in court for the threats charges on Sept. 7, pleading not guilty and being released on bail. Du was arrested at the home where Ye was killed and the case is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 19.
