Authorities accused Arlington Heights man Jose Ruiz-Crespin of hitting and injuring a Chicago Police officer while driving under the influence on the West side. Facing felony charges of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated DUI, Ruiz-Crespin also has five misdemeanor counts of DUI and one count of driving an uninsured vehicle. Arrested after allegedly hitting the officer in the Austin neighborhood, Ruiz-Crespin is scheduled to appear in court at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse on Tuesday.
