An 80-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a road traffic collision on the N1 in Co Louth on St Stephen’s Day, with Gardaí seeking information on the incident near Dundalk. The fatality brings the total number of road crash deaths in 2023 to 179, compared to 184 in the entirety of 2022. Witnesses of the collision are urged to come forward, with road users asked to provide any camera footage from the N1 between 6.15pm and 6.45pm on December 26th to Dundalk Garda station.
