Abdul Raziq Khan, owner of the family-run restaurant Mama Khan in Montreal, has been dedicated to combating food insecurity since opening in 2021. On Christmas Eve, he was shocked when a group of diners left without paying a $160 bill, prompting him to consider new security measures and file a police report. Despite this setback, community support poured in, including an offer from Shahryar Ahmed to cover the tab. Khan plans to use the donations to continue his initiatives, such as providing free meals to those in need.
