Makeshift university in Gaza provides opportunity to continue academic studies

The new academic semester in Gaza has begun under dire circumstances, as Israel’s military actions have devastated educational institutions, forcing many to serve as shelters for displaced families. In response, the US NGO Scholars Without Borders has created “University City,” a makeshift academic space in Khan Younis to facilitate in-person learning for students. This initiative aims to restore a sense of normalcy, providing essential resources like internet access and space for up to 600 students daily amid ongoing challenges.
