On 18 October 2024, a criminal group involved in drug trafficking prescription pills was dismantled in a large-scale operation coordinated by Eurojust, resulting in the arrest of 47 individuals and seizure of over 6 million pills. The group operated internationally, smuggling pills from Serbia to Romania and Estonia, then distributing them in Nordic countries for profit. Following investigations and joint efforts by Romanian, Estonian, Finnish, and Serbian authorities, arrests were made, and significant amounts of pills and other illicit items were confiscated, with Europol’s support.
