AnduinOS 1.3, a Linux distribution designed to resemble Windows 11, is maintained by Microsoft software engineer Anduin Xue, who revealed his identity after gaining attention from Neowin and DistroWatch. Xue, financially stable and not seeking to commercialize the project, dedicates only a few hours monthly to its maintenance and has no plans to accept donations, though he may consider enterprise solutions in the future. Addressing concerns about its origins, he emphasized the availability of the source code, which prevents any potential backdoors for the Chinese government, and assured users of his commitment to ongoing support for AnduinOS.
