The Maharashtra home department transferred 28 deputy superintendent of police and assistant commissioner of police rank officers, including 15 from Mumbai, ahead of the assembly polls scheduled for November 20. Among the transfers, ACP Mrityunjay Hiremath was appointed as Kolhapur Dy SP, Shashikant Mane as Dy SP of CID, and Kumud Kadam as Dy SP of highway police in Nashik. The director general of police had previously transferred over 300 police inspectors in preparation for the upcoming elections, with the model code of conduct in effect since October 15.
