French President Emmanuel Macron is set to make a state visit to the UK, following an invitation from King Charles at the end of May, marking his first visit to Britain since taking office eight years ago. This visit is expected to occur before Donald Trump’s anticipated trip in September, which he described as a “Trump-fest” involving a meeting with the King. Both leaders are also coordinating on defense matters, particularly regarding the situation in Ukraine, while UK ministers seek to balance trade relations with Europe and the US.
