M. Night Shyamalan unveiled the first trailer for Trap at CinemaCon, along with new footage from his daughter’s debut film, The Watchers.

At the Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon, both M. Night Shyamalan and his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan had their films, Trap and The Watchers, respectively, teased.

Ishana Night Shyamalan is making her directorial debut with The Watcher, a Celtic horror thriller set in Ireland. The film stars Dakota Fanning as Mina, a stranded artist who becomes trapped with three strangers being stalked by mysterious creatures each night. A new trailer for the movie was shown at CinemaCon, described as “very fantasy-esque” by Chris Bumbray.

Shyamalan praised his daughter’s work on Servant, noting her unique style and approach to storytelling. He mentioned the advantages and disadvantages of their different levels of experience in the industry.

M. Night Shyamalan also teased his upcoming thriller, Trap, at CinemaCon. He humorously compared himself and his daughters to the Indian Von Trapps. Trap stars Saleka, Shyamalan’s other daughter, alongside Josh Hartnett. The trailer reveals a concert setting where Saleka plays a pop star targeted by a serial killer, who turns out to be Hartnett’s character. The twist adds an intriguing layer to the psychological thriller.
