On October 19, 2025, thieves broke into the Louvre Museum in Paris, stealing several priceless 19th-century jewels using power tools and a mechanical lift, exposing significant security flaws. In response, the museum transferred some of its valuable items to the nearby Bank of France under police escort, while experts warn the stolen jewels, worth over $100 million, could be dismantled and sold discreetly.
