Los Angeles homeless chief to resign after the county guts her agency

Va Lecia Adams Kellum, CEO of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, resigned after the county board voted to remove funding and workers from the agency. Despite facing criticism, she implemented programs to address homelessness, but was unable to prevent the agency from losing funding and control to a new county homelessness agency. Adams Kellum’s efforts to improve LAHSA’s financial oversight and reduce street homelessness were overshadowed by audits revealing deficiencies and ultimately led to her resignation.
