A railway line in Wales was closed after two trains collided near Llanbrynmair, Powys, with British Transport Police, paramedics, fire and rescue, and Dyfed Powys Police responding to the incident. The trains involved were the Transport for Wales 6.31pm service from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth and the Transport for Wales 7.09pm service from Machynlleth to Shrewsbury. Network Rail and Transport for Wales stated they were working to support emergency services and urged passengers to check for travel updates before setting out.
