Liz Truss attended the launch party of ex-convict Dougie Joyce’s whiskey brand, where she mimicked his catchphrase in an Instagram video, stating, “Dougie Joyce loves ya.” Joyce, a bare-knuckle fighter recently released from prison for violently assaulting a 78-year-old man, claimed Truss’s presence added a “distinguished touch” to the event. A spokesperson for Truss noted her attendance was to support local regeneration efforts, and she was not compensated for her appearance, despite Joyce’s controversial background.
