“There’s a darkness in those girls…” Hulu has revealed the full trailer for a true crime series titled Under the Bridge, arriving for streaming in a few weeks in April this spring. While it is a “true crime” story, it’s being adapted into a fictional series, so not everything may be as it was in real life. Reena Virk, a fourteen-year-old girl, went to join friends at a party and never returned. Seven teenage girls and a boy were accused of the savage murder on Vancouver Island up in Canada. This Under the Bridge crime series is based on the late Rebecca Godfrey’s bestselling book about the 1997 true story of Reena Virk (played by Vritika Gupta) who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey and a local police officer, the series takes us deep into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer. Hulu’s new series stars Lily Gladstone as Officer Bentland, with Chloe Guidry, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Izzy G., Aiyana Goodfellow, Ezra Faroque Khan, Archie Panjabi and Riley Keough co-starring as the writer Rebecca Godfrey. This looks eerie and unsettling, and the voiceover sets up a “you’ve gotta watch it and find out” premise about what is happening on this island.
