Fire at Lehigh Valley Hospital Leads to Evacuations

Crews battled a fire at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, which started late Wednesday and continued into early Thursday. Seventy-seven patients, including six in ICU, were evacuated, while one firefighter was hospitalized for chest pains. The fire, which originated in the roof of the outpatient orthopedic unit, resulted in total loss of that area, although the main hospital sustained only smoke and water damage. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
