Left Blocked from EUROLAT Leadership Role in European Parliament

During the EUROLAT vice-presidential election, the Left was unable to reclaim the 2nd Vice-Chair position due to a maneuver by right-wing groups. The far-right “Patriots for Europe” and center-right EPP nominated their own candidates, leading to the defeat of the Left’s nominee, João Oliveira, in the second round of voting. This maneuver prevented the Left from securing the desired leadership position within the assembly.
