According to HITC, Leeds United are interested in signing Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City in the upcoming summer transfer window. The report suggests that Leeds would be eager to secure a deal for the England international midfielder if they manage to get promoted from the Championship at the conclusion of the current season.
Having previously sold Phillips to City in 2022, Leeds would not be able to negotiate a permanent transfer with the Manchester club. Instead, their plan is to bring Phillips back on a loan deal and contribute towards his wages.
Despite his move to City, Phillips has struggled to make an impact at the club. He spent last season as a fringe player while City achieved success in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and FA Cup. In the January transfer window, Phillips was loaned to West Ham United, where he has also failed to impress and is unlikely to stay beyond the current season.
