Singaporean businessman Mr Lee Hsien Yang has paid S$600,000 to ministers K Shanmugam and Vivian Balakrishnan for defaming them regarding their rental of state properties at Ridout Road. This payment follows a High Court ruling in May that required Mr Lee to pay S$200,000 to each minister, in addition to S$51,000 in costs to each. Mr Lee, the brother of former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, made the defamatory remarks on Facebook.

Uyghur rapper was imprisoned in China for ‘extremist’ lyrics, rights group says
Yashar Shohret, a young Uyghur rapper and singer-songwriter, has been imprisoned in China for composing lyrics deemed to "promote extremism."
