Lebanon PM says ready to bolster army in south after any ceasefire

Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, stated that his country is prepared to strengthen the army’s presence in the south if a ceasefire is reached to end Israeli attacks on Hezbollah, with the group already accepting the ceasefire. Mikati plans to increase the army’s presence by recruiting additional troops and emphasized the government’s commitment to asserting sovereignty over all of Lebanon. Security measures have been heightened at Beirut airport to prevent Israeli attacks, and efforts are being made to elect a new president amidst the ongoing conflict and economic crisis in the country.
