The person who died after being struck by a tree branch on Wellington’s Mt Victoria has been identified as specialist GP Richard Tyler.

He was hit by a branch blown off a tree around 9:20 am while on a walking track, with a local resident, Kirsten Johnstone, discovering him and calling for an ambulance.
