A confirmed case of Lassa fever in a person who recently traveled from Nigeria to England has prompted officials to search for other possible cases and track contacts. Lassa fever, similar to Ebola, is rare in the UK but more common in Nigeria and other West African countries, transmitted through rodents. The UK Health Security Agency reassures the public that the overall risk of spread within the UK is very low.
