Lando Norris acknowledges that McLaren has not made as much progress as he had hoped in addressing the weaknesses in the team’s 2024 car. Despite a solid start to the season, with two double points finishes and a best race result of fourth, McLaren is still aiming to close the gap to the front-runners.

Speaking at the second round of the season in Saudi Arabia, Norris discussed the progress McLaren made over the off-season. While some positive steps have been taken, there is still work to be done to tackle the team’s weaknesses and improve overall performance.

Norris, who is still chasing his first Grand Prix win after 106 starts, is optimistic about the updates McLaren has planned for the upcoming races. While these updates may only make small differences individually, collectively they can lead to significant improvements in performance.

McLaren team boss Andrea Stella has acknowledged that some development projects were not completed in time for the initial version of the car, but believes it is only a matter of time before they are implemented.

The Australian Grand Prix is up next on March 22-24, and McLaren will be looking to continue their progress and close the gap to the front of the grid.
