Pets at Home has introduced the world’s first meat-based dog treats made with cultivated meat called “Chick Bites,” combining plant-based ingredients with lab-grown chicken to eliminate the need for animal raising and slaughter. The lab-grown chicken, developed by Meatly from a single egg cell sample, provides essential amino acids, fatty acids, minerals, and vitamins crucial for pet health while retaining the taste and nutritional value of traditional chicken breast. The UK approved Meatly’s chicken for use in pet food, making Pets at Home the first company to sell cultivated meat for pets, with the potential to sustain pets indefinitely.
