First Nations in B.C. Challenge Ksi Lisims LNG Project Legally

Two First Nations in northwest B.C., the Lax Kw’alaams Band and the Metlakatla First Nation, are challenging the federal approval of the Ksi Lisims LNG facility in court, citing ignored concerns about adverse impacts on their traditional territories and rights. The project, designed to process and export significant amounts of natural gas, has faced multiple legal challenges, including outstanding Aboriginal title claims.
