Museums face pressure to downplay the history of Black America

In Dearborn, Michigan, the historic Jackson Home, where Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and others planned civil rights marches, has been relocated from Alabama to the Henry Ford Museum, preserving its significance amid current political pressures to minimize discussions of race and history in institutions. The home, dismantled and transported over 1,000 miles, will house artifacts from the era while leaders emphasize the importance of factual public history against divisive narratives.
