Kevin Williamson, the original writer of the Scream franchise, revealed a different vision for Scream 5 and Scream 6 that would have made Emma Roberts’ character, Jill, the new face of the franchise. In his concept, Jill survives Scream 4 and becomes a celebrity while trying to hide her past as a killer. Additionally, Williamson planned for Scream 6 to focus on Gale Weathers navigating a romantic subplot with a potential killer. Williamson returns to the franchise as writer and director for Scream 7, set to release on February 27.
