Estate agent Stephanie Slater was kidnapped 34 years ago after a property viewing in Great Barr, Birmingham, by a man posing as ‘Bob Southall,’ later identified as Michael Sams. During the attack, he threatened her with a knife and took her hostage, demanding a ransom of £175,000 from her employers. Despite being bound and confined in a coffin inside a wheelie bin, Stephanie survived by remaining compliant and humanizing herself to her captor. The police were alerted after Sams contacted her agency and sent a recorded ransom demand.
