A Kenyan police officer was shot and killed in Haiti during an operation to combat gang violence, marking the first death of a Kenyan officer working as part of the Multinational Security Support Mission since its deployment in June. The officer was fatally wounded while on patrol in the Artibonite region, north of Port-au-Prince, and was airlifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
