Ronald Exantus, 42, was released early from a 20-year sentence for fatally stabbing 6-year-old Logan Tipton during a 2015 home invasion, after earning good behavior credits. Exantus, who was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity, was arrested just eight days after his release for failing to register as a convicted felon. The incident has raised concerns about Kentucky’s criminal justice system, prompting state Rep. T.J. Roberts to propose Logan’s Law to reform reentry supervision. Logan’s family expressed their distress over the early release of their son’s murderer, advocating for changes in the law.
