During PMQs, Keir Starmer called out Kemi Badenoch for her past role as “minister for council tax”, after Badenoch accused the prime minister of breaking his promise to freeze council tax. Starmer reminded Badenoch that council tax had also increased when she was in charge, and highlighted that Tory councils were pushing for even higher hikes. He emphasized that Labour councils have lower council tax rates compared to Tory councils.
