Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev previously mentioned the possibility of Kazakhstan purchasing gas and electricity from Turkmenistan.
“We are in constant communication with our Central Asian counterparts regarding the exchange and supply of energy resources. Turkmenistan has the capacity to provide electricity, with exports already underway to the Kyrgyz Republic. We are open to considering proposals from our Turkmen partners for gas and electricity, based on the commercial benefits for our users,” the minister stated.
Turkmenistan’s Chairman of the People’s Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, had previously indicated at the 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ashgabat that Turkmenistan could potentially export a significant amount of energy resources to Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
